Can you put 302 heads on a 351

I agree about not wanting to do it twice. Kinda depends on what year of heads you currently have you may not see much or any gain with gt40 heads and much smaller gains from aftermarket heads. Just be aware that not all gains will be realized. Most of the gains will only be at max RPM. For a mild engine like we tend to run in broncos gt40's are a decent choice if you have late model W heads. If you have early W heads then i wouldnt bother with a head swap your better off considering a cam swap.

Just adding aluminum heads on a stock mill, won't really net you much. Unless your going to add a cam, and bump up your compression you will only see 'a little' gain. In my opinion it's probably not worth it. About 8 years ago I pulled a pretty decent W out of an 80 something Bronco and the owner produced reciepts showing a recent rebuild. Since it was a smog era motor it had pretty low compression. I had a nice set of heads C68s with 58cc combustion chambers that were on another I had with an adjustable valve train and slight port work.

I have hardly anything in the whole motor and have been pretty happy with the results. Action's Garage Ford Bronco. I have early w heads on a with flat tops Jack. Attached Images TFSheads3. Early w's have bigger valves. The hipo heads have screw in rocker studs that make using an aftermarket cam and valve train a lot easier. They have small combustion chambers that about require premium gas, but give a few horses. The have machined spring pockets that take bigger springs than some castings. Requires special intake, and different pistons for a good compression.

The peak horsepower would come at too high an rpm for a heavy car street car with small displacement engine. In the world of my budget, it would depend what I came across cheap, If you found hp or w or gt40 heads they would all be fine. If you somehow find a grand in your back pocket, get World Products Windsor Junior heads. Spyder , Aug 27, You can put roller cams in anything with a conversion kit.
